Google remembers Dadasaheb Phalke & has dedicated a doodle on his birth anniversary. He is often referred as the Father of Indian Cinema. He made the first feature film in India — Raja Harishchandra.
He handled all the aspects of the project — production, writing and direction on his own. He also made the sets & completed the shooting in 7 months & 21 days.
He set up an example & paved way for the Indian Cinema that now rules millions of hearts not only in India but also abroad.
Dadasaheb Phalke was born on April 30. He had studied sculpting and engineering even before he started making films. He was also a photographer and worked with celebrated painter Raja Ravi Varma. It is believed that he developed an interest in motion pictures after watching the silent film The Life of Christ.
