In Modern Indian society women are playing stellar role be it in politics, entertainment, business etc. 2017 was also the year in which for the 1st time when the female lead (Deepika) was paid more than the male leads (Shahid, Ranveer) .
Indian woman are emerging out of their conventional role and have begun to take major role in all walks of life.
India is fortunate to have had many great women – , Mother Teresa, Sarojini Naidu to Indira Gandhi only the second woman Prime Minster in the world, to Kalpana Chawla, Indra Nooyi to Pratibha Patil first women President of India and many more. And this list will continue to go on.

Chanda Kocchar made it to Rank 32 in the Forbes’ The World’s Top 100 Most Powerful Woman list. The ICICI Bank CEO topped the other Indian women listed by Forbes Business Magazine.

Flying Officer Avani Chaturvedi who become the first Indian woman to fly a aircraft solo after she flew a MiG-21 Bison. She undertook the sortie from IAF’s Jamnagar base on 20th February 2018.
She became a youtube sensation after her videos for filter copy were out. She was even loved by everyone for the characters she played in the web series “Just Little things” & “Girl in the city”, which helped her bag a role opposite Irrfan khan in a movie set to release in June 2018. She was also included in the Forbes 30 under 30 list on the 8th position.
After making her hollywood debut opposite Vin Diesel in XXX – Return of Xander Cage she was also voted the 2nd Sexiest Asian Women in Asia & topped the list of Maxim’s top 100 hot women, she topped in a list that had Emma Watson, Kendall Jenner, Kylie Jenner & Priyanka Chopra.

Indira Banerjee became the Chief Justice of Madras High Court in March 2017. She made it to the top post from a base of 53 male and 6 female judges of Madras High Court.
Dr. Neeru Chadha.
Dr. Neeru Chadha became the first Indian woman to be elected as Judge of the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS). Previously, Dr. Chadha has been the first woman Chief Adviser to the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.
The Five-Time World Amateur Boxing champion clinched her fifth Gold in November 2017 at the Asian Confederation Women’s Boxing Championship. The only woman boxer to have won a medal in each one of the six world championships.

The Indian Women’s Cricket Team made it to the ICC Women’s World Cup finale. Although they did not win the title; but they won millions of hearts across the country. Punam Raut, Mithali Raj, Harmanpreet Kaur, Jhulan Goswami and Deepti Sharma amongst others steered the way ahead for team India.
An avid mountaineer and mother of two, Anshu Jamsenpa, in May 2017, became the first woman in the world to scale Mount Everest Twice in a season. Anshu also made the record of fastest double ascent by a woman to the world’s highest peak.
