Top Bollywood beauty quits as the brand ambassador of Nirav Modi’s Jewellery after PNB Fraud case.
Bollywood beauty & International Icon Priyanka Chopra has quit as brand ambassador of celebrity jeweller Nirav Modi’s jewellery. Just a few weeks back Nirav Modi was accused in a massive bank fraud.
The Central Bureau of Investigation, one of the agencies investigating the scandal estimated the scam to be of amount Rs. 14300 Crores. Because of all the developments and the allegations against him Priyanka Chopra – The Brand Ambassador of Nirav Modi Jewellery has decided to quit as the ambassador as she does not want any trouble.
Nirav Modi and his family had left the country before the scam broke out and his lawyer has declined to indicate if and when the billionaire would come back to the country to face the probe.
The government-owned Punjab National Bank upon the fraud last month and complained that Nirav Modi’s firms would get fraudulent letters from a branch in Mumbai to secure credit overseas from other banks.
The Nirav Modi brand had roped Priyanka as its brand ambassador in January last year. The firm sells its jewellery across 3 continents for prices varying between 5 lakhs to 50 crores.
After the scandal broke out, Priyanka Chopra didn’t want to be associated with the brand and had asked her lawyers to come up with a way.
