This was Director Ayan Mukerji’s debut film with Ranbeer Kapoor and Konkana Sen Sharma in the lead. It follows the story of  Sid  and how his life changes when he fails his third year college exams. How his life changes after this, from being an immature person to someone who is mature and has found his passion for photography,this transformation was basically everyone’s story from our generation, who are confused about what they want in their life .

The Perks of Being a Wallflower

Th movie is a classic High school tale where a kid with the help of his eccentric group of friends confronts his horrors from the past. Starring Logan Lerman, Emma Watson and Ezra Miller, the movie was a huge hit with the youth and adults.


The movie revolves around the lead actor Kangana Ranaut being abandoned on the day of her wedding and her decision to go on her honeymooon alone. Her decisions takes her on a journey of self discovery, freedom and self love. Vikas Bahl’s first movie won the hearts of the audience and the critics alike. It was a career best performance by Kangana Ranaut and winning soundtrack by Amit Trivedi, the movie was a beautiful lesson for Indian parents when it came to bringing up girl children.

Dil Chahta Hai

Te film showed the journey of three friends fresh out of college and how their friendship changes in the subsequent years, even as they grow because of certain circumstances in their own lives. Director Farhan Akhtar’s debut feature film connected with an entire generation and nothing will replicate that it also gave us our favourite trio and so many memoried associated with them.


Farhan Akhtar’s second venture as a director was a more literal coming-of-age tale. the story revolves around a rich boy played by Hrithhik Roshan who has no clarity in life and his journey of self discovery where he goes for the army and finds the purpose of his life.

3 Idiots

Based on Chetan Bhagat’s Five Point Someone, the film directed by Raju Hirani took upon the Indian education system and the hierarchy of Beta hua to Engineer ya fir Doctor. This movie too said what many of us wanted to say”allow us to follow our heart & passion”. The movie had Aamir Khan, Sharman Joshi & R Madhvan in the lead who all gave a brilliant performance. And this connected and won over the youth.

Into The Wild

Based on the life of Chris McCandless, the film revolves around the life of a youngster who leaves the trappings of modern society like a career, a marriage and wanders into the wilderness of Alaska. It shows the journey of a boy becoming a man. It shows his journey of finding the true meaning of life.

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara

Zoya Akhtar’s second movie revolved around 3 childhood friends who decide to go on a bachlor trip to spain and experience life with all its complexity, find the true meaning of loughtve, friendships and life. It taught us the importance of human reltations and love.

 Ye Jawaani hai Deewani.

Ayan Mukherjee gave this gem of a movie in his second movie with Ranbeer kapoor. The story revolves aroound bunny played by Ranbeer kapoor and Naina played by Deepika padhukone and their two friends. It is not about self discovery but valuing relationships, family and not getting lost in this race of making fame and money.
